The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown two teenagers to hospital, in different airlifts, after separate motocross crashes today (Sunday 14th March).
In the first incident, the rescue chopper was called to a track, in the Somerset region, after a teenage boy was injured in a crash, just after midday.
He was treated for upper body and head injuries, before being flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition.
Less than an hour after the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue aeromedical crew completed the mission, they were called back to the same motocross track.
The second patient, another teenage boy, had suffered lower body injuries, in a crash.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were on scene, treating the patient, when the chopper arrived.
The boy was subsequently flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition.
