The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a teenage boy to hospital, after he was injured in a car crash, yesterday evening (April 11th).
It’s believed the boy was travelling in a car, along a road east of Gympie, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree.
The rescue chopper was sent to the scene shortly after 8pm, where the pilot was able to land the aircraft nearby.
The aeromedical team worked alongside paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to treat the boy for multiple injuries.
He was transported in a critical but stable condition to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
The aircraft was one of two rescue helicopters called to the accident.
