RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts man after quad bike accident

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew have airlifted an injured man after he fell off a quad bike this morning.

The man was riding the bike while visiting family at a property in the Somerset Region, went he went over the handlebars.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) personnel arrived first on scene.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked just after 10:30am, and landed on the property.

The patient, aged in his 40s, was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with pelvic and abdominal injuries, in a stable condition.
