RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts seriously injured dirt bike rider

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown an injured man to hospital, after the dirt bike he was riding reportedly crashed into a tree, yesterday afternoon (Sunday 22nd June).

The rescue chopper crew was called to the scene, south of Gympie, just after 1pm.

It’s believe the patient, aged in his 20s, had been riding the motorbike on a dirt road, when he lost control and hit the tree.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were treating the man for upper body injuries, when the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue aeromedical team arrived.

He was stabilised, before being flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, in a serious condition.
