The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was injured in a motorbike crash, earlier today.

The rescue chopper was sent to the scene, south-east of Toowoomba, around 1:30 this afternoon.

The pilot was able to land in a paddock, near where the man had crashed.

The aeromedical team worked alongside paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to stabilise the patient, aged in his forties.

He suffered lower limb injuries and was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
