Rider airlifted after being struck by another motorbike

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a motorbike rider, after he was reportedly struck by another motorcycle, while stopped at a give way sign.

It’s believed the man had been riding with friends, north of the Sunshine Coast, when he was clipped by the other bike.

The helicopter was called into action just after 1pm (Sunday 7 June) and landed at an oval, near the scene.

The aeromedical crew and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated the patient, before he was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The patient, aged in his 70s, suffered lower leg injuries.
