Motorcyclist airlifted by RACQ LifeFlight Rescue

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital, after a motorcycle incident late this afternoon.

The pilot landed the helicopter on a dirt airstrip near the Western Downs scene at 5.20pm.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, who were the first on the scene, drove the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue aeromedical crew to the patient.

It is believed the man, aged in his 40s, had lost control of his motorbike.

He was treated for a broken ankle.

He was transported by ambulance to the waiting helicopter and flown to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.
