LifeFlight winches bushwalker to hospital after fall in Scenic Rim

The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew winched a male bushwalker to safety in the Scenic Rim yesterday afternoon.

The aeromedical team was tasked to an area of bush near Mount Tamborine at 3pm.

It is believed the man, aged in his 20s, slipped while bushwalking and suffered an arm injury.

He was helped by other bushwalkers and park rangers before emergency services arrived.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Queensland Fire Department (QFD) were on scene and the LifeFlight critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic were winched down to the patient.

The aeromedical crew worked with QAS paramedics to treat the patient before he was stretcher-winched into the helicopter.

He was flown to Archerfield Airport and road transported by QAS to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
