LifeFlight airlifts woman after vehicle rollover

The Mount Isa-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew yesterday airlifted a woman to hospital after a single- vehicle rollover.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 4.17pm by Retrieval Services Queensland and landed on a road northwest of Mt Isa.

The multi-agency response included Queensland Fire Department (QFD) and Queensland Police Service (QPS).

The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic and a Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) doctor treated the woman for serious multiple fractures, lacerations and a suspected chest injury.

The patient, in her 60s, was airlifted to the LifeFlight Mount Isa base and road transported by QAS paramedics to Mount Isa Hospital.
