LifeFlight airlifts two from ultra-light aircraft crash

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted two men after the light aircraft they were in crashed in the Noosa region.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 8am and located the aircraft in soggy paddocks near an airstrip.

Both men were able to walk away from the wreckage and were assisted by a multi-agency response, including Queensland Police Service (QPS), Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Queensland Fire Department (QFD).

The LifeFlight rescue crewman and QAS flight paramedic were lowered to the scene and put harnesses on both patients before winching them into the helicopter.

The men aged in their 50’s were airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
