LifeFlight airlifts teenage cyclist after collision with motorcycle

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a teenage boy to hospital yesterday afternoon following a collision between a bicycle and motorcycle in the Glass House Mountains.

The rescue helicopter was tasked at 3.23pm and landed in a paddock near the incident.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor worked with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to stablise the patient who was riding the bicycle.

He was treated for severe head injuries and flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital.
