LifeFlight airlifts motorcyclist after animal incident

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man after he collided with a cow while motorbike riding.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 12.13pm by Retrieval Services Queensland to a dirt road in the Gympie region northwest of Manumbar and landed near the scene.

Local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated the patient for a lower limb fracture before the critical care LifeFlight doctor and QAS flight paramedic arrived and continued the treatment.

The man, in his 60s, was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
