LifeFlight airlifts man after two-vehicle highway crash

The Brisbane-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in the Logan region.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 4.50pm to a stretch of highway and landed on a private property near the road.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics transported the patient to the helicopter where they worked with the LifeFlight critical care doctor and flight nurse to treat a man in his 80s for life threatening leg and chest injuries.

He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.
