Boating accident leaves two people in hospital

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man and a young boy to hospital after a boating accident.

The chopper was tasked just after midday (Sat 16th April) to the Western Downs region, landing on a road nearby.

It’s believed the man and the boy were tubing on a lake, when the boat they were attached to hit an object, throwing the pair into the water.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) personnel were already on scene when the rescue helicopter arrived.

The man suffered abdominal injuries, while the boy suffered minor injuries.

Both patients were flown to the Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
