The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown an injured teenager to hospital, after a dirt bike crash, south of Gympie.

The rescue chopper was called to a private property, around 4 o’clock this afternoon.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Critical Care Flight Paramedic, joined QAS paramedics at the scene, in treating the patient for a lower limb injury.

He was then flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, under the care of the aeromedical team.
