RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts car crash survivor

The Mount Isa-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted an injured man to hospital, after he was involved in a car rollover, earlier this morning.

The rescue chopper was sent to scene, north west of Mount Isa, around 4am, where the pilot was able to a land on the highway.

It’s believed the man had been trapped in the car for some time before emergency services were able to free him.

The aeromedical crew worked alongside local paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service, to stabilise the man, aged in his twenties, for his flight to hospital.

He suffered significant head injuries and was flown to Mount Isa hospital for further treatment.
