Man airlifted from K’Gari after dislocated shoulder

The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a man from K’Gari late this afternoon after he dislocated his shoulder.

It is believed the tourist, aged in his 30s, was being towed behind a car in shallow water when he fell.

The LifeFlight helicopter crew was called out just after 5.30pm and landed on the Sandy Cape Conservation Park helipad on the north tip of the island.

A LifeFlight critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedics treated the man, before he was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.

The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight helicopter and crew service the Wide Bay-Burnett region and beyond.
