Man airlifted after crashing bike while mustering

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital following a mustering accident in the South Burnett region. 

The man, aged in his 70s, was mustering cattle on a motorbike at a private property when he struck an ant hill.

The LifeFlight crew was able to land the chopper in a paddock close to the incident at around 11am. 

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and a LifeFlight critical care doctor treated the man, who had shoulder and chest injuries.

He was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
