LifeFlight winches bushwalker with medical condition

The Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) aeromedical crew airlifted a bushwalker to hospital this afternoon after he suffered a cardiac condition in the Maranoa region.

The rescue chopper was tasked to Carnarvon Gorge at about 1pm.

The LifeFlight helicopter was unable to land at the scene and winched the LifeFlight critical care doctor and paramedic down to the man.

The bushwalker, aged in his 50s, was stretcher winched into the helicopter and flown to Roma Hospital in a stable condition.

Tasked by Queensland Ambulance Service, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
