The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter crew airlifted a man to hospital this afternoon, after he was injured in a car accident.
It’s believed the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree around 11.30am.
The rescue chopper was tasked to a stretch of the Bunya Highway, just outside of Bell in the Western Downs.
The pilot landed the aircraft on the road near the accident.
The LifeFlight critical care doctor and flight paramedic worked with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient for multiple injuries.
He was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Tasked by Queensland Ambulance Service, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
