The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital after he fell from the horse he was riding, earlier today (Saturday 27 January).
The aeromedical team was sent to the scene, in the Western Downs Region, shortly after 5pm where the pilot was able to land the rescue helicopter near the accident.
The man, aged in his twenties, suffered multiple injuries and was flown in a serious but stable condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Tasked by Queensland Health, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
