LifeFlight airlifts injured motocross rider

The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a woman to hospital this afternoon, after she was injured in a motocross accident.

The rescue helicopter was tasked to a recreational park in Glen Echo at around 2:30pm.

It’s believed the rider, aged in her 20s, was attempting a dirt bike jump and crashed.

The pilot landed the aircraft close to the scene.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor and flight paramedic worked with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient on scene for multiple injuries.

She was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
