LifeFlight airlifts man after second degree burns incident

The Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) crew airlifted a man to hospital this afternoon after an incident on a private property near Injune, north of Roma.

The helicopter was tasked at 12.30pm by Retrieval Services Queensland and landed at the scene.

The man was preparing a burn pile when the incident happened.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor and flight paramedic worked with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient for second degree burns to his face and hand.

The man, in his 20s, was stabilised then airlifted to Roma Hospital for further treatment.

The LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
