The Mount Isa-based LifeFlight crew last night airlifted six people to safety after their property was surrounded by flood waters.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Queensland Police Service (QPS) and Retrieval Services Queensland at 10pm to an outback station southwest of Mount Isa on the Northern Territory border.
The residents raised the alarm when they noticed rising flood waters were about to breach the levy surrounding their homestead.
The rescue chopper landed near the homestead and in two trips relocated four men, two women and two dogs to another homestead 24 kilometres away.
Nobody required medical treatment.
