The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted an elderly woman to hospital after a two-vehicle crash.
The helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 1.30pm to a highway in the Lockyer Valley region.
The helicopter landed on the road, which was closed in both directions by the Queensland Police Service (QPS).
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local paramedics to treat the patient for arm, chest and abdominal injuries.
The woman, in her 80s, was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
