The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a woman from K’Gari after a suspected snake bite yesterday (Saturday October 4).
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 4.50pm.
It is believed the woman was camping with friends and walking through grass at Waddy Point when she felt a sharp sting on her left foot.
Her friends kept her rested and applied a pressure bandage and drove her to Orchid Beach.
The helicopter landed at Orchid Beach helipad, and the patient was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight helicopter and crew service the Wide Bay-Burnett region and beyond.
