LifeFlight airlifts boy after ATV crash

The Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) aeromedical crew today airlifted a boy after an ATV crash in the Western Downs region.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 3.40pm to a private property and landed near the scene.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and flight paramedic worked with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to intubate the patient and treat him for critical head injuries.

He was airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Tasked by Queensland Ambulance Service, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
