Bushwalker rescue-winched in Scenic Rim

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew was tasked to rescue a female bushwalker in the Scenic Rim this afternoon (Sunday June 2).

The aeromedical team was tasked to the remote and rocky mountain range just after 2pm.

It is believed the woman, aged in her 40s, tripped while bushwalking and sprained her ankle. She was helped by other bushwalkers before the helicopter arrived.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper winched down the LifeFlight QAS Flight Paramedic who assessed the woman.

The crew winched the injured woman, as well as the QAS Flight Paramedic into the rescue helicopter, before the patient was flown to Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition.
