The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a dirt-bike rider, after he was injured in a motocross incident in the Gympie region, this morning.
It’s believed the rider, who is aged in his 20s, had been attempting a jump from a ramp on a motocross track when he crashed.
The rescue chopper was called to the scene just after 11am (Saturday, 25th of March).
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Flight Nurse met with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient for spinal injuries.
He was flown to the Brisbane LifeFlight base in a stable condition, before being transported to Royal Brisbane Hospital by QAS ambulance.
