Seriously injured motorcyclist airlifted to hospital

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has come to the aid of an injured motorbike rider today (Sat 16th April).

The rescue helicopter was tasked to a crash site in the South Burnett region at 12:15pm, and landed on a paddock nearby.

It’s believed the man, aged in his sixties, was parked on the side of a road when he was hit by another motorcyclist.

The rescue chopper team, along with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, treated the rider that had been stationary, for multiple traumatic injuries.

He was then airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The other motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
