The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew has winched a woman to safety, after she fell three metres while bushwalking.
The helicopter was tasked to a mountain in the Toowoomba region, just after 11.30 this morning.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics initially walked up the mountain to assess the woman’s condition.
Once the rescue helicopter arrived at the scene, the aircrew officer winched both the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and the QAS Critical Care Flight Paramedic down to the patient.
They worked with the local QAS paramedics to treat the woman for head and suspected spinal injuries.
The patient and aeromedical crew members were then winched back up to the safety of the rescue chopper.
The woman was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
