A teenage boy has been airlifted by the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter, after he was seriously injured in a trail bike crash.
It’s believed he had been riding with family and friends in a state forest, west of the Sunshine Coast, when he lost control and crashed his bike into a tree.
The rescue helicopter was sent to the scene just before 12.30 this afternoon (Saturday 2nd May).
The aeromedical crew worked alongside local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the teenager for a broken leg and suspected internal injuries.
Once he was stabilised for the flight, he was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
