PMAWHS214 Underwater helicopter safety and escape (HUET)

Comprehensive training for underwater helicopter safety

Thousands of professionals from all over the world with backgrounds in aviation, marine, defence and emergency service industries graduate every year with a LifeFlight PMAWHS214 Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) accreditation.

Participants gain invaluable hands-on experience using the latest technology in submerged helicopter simulators. PMAWHS214 HUET covers safety procedures and survival techniques for both rotary (helicopter) and fixed-wing (jet) aircraft, including life jacket and life raft training. This comprehensive training is specifically designed to heighten safety procedures, danger awareness and operational standards for flights over or near water. HUET has been shown to significantly increase post-accident underwater survival rates.

LifeFlight offers PMAWHS214 HUET courses at various locations across Australia, including Brisbane, Melbourne, Cairns, Townsville, and Mackay. Additional locations are available on a quote basis, ensuring flexible and convenient options for all participants.

This assessment will be conducted through observing skills in making a competent underwater escape from the aircraft simulator in a variety of escape situations. These escape situations will include 180-degree rollover, 180-degree rollover in blackout conditions and 180-degree rollover using a secondary exit.
