RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts seriously injured motocross rider

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a man to hospital, after he was seriously injured in a motocross crash this morning.

It’s believed the rider, aged in his 40s, had been attempting a dirt bike jump, at a recreational park in the Gympie region, when he lost control and crashed.

The man was given first aid on the scene, before the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper arrived.

The aeromedical crew worked alongside local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, to treat the patient for suspected spinal injuries.

He was then flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a serious but stable condition.
