RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts injured motorcyclist

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a dirt bike rider to hospital, after he crashed his motorcycle, while attempting to complete a jump.

The rescue chopper was called to a recreational area in the Gympie region at 11.30am today. (Sat 16th)

The injured rider, who is aged in his twenties, was being treated at the scene by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) personnel, when the pilot landed the aircraft in a clear area.

The patient was transferred to the helicopter and airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital to be assessed for a suspected broken collar bone.
