Rescue chopper joins multi-agency search for capsized vessel

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew joined a multi-agency search this afternoon north of Moreton Island, to help locate an overturned vessel.

The aeromedical chopper was tasked to assist at around 3pm.

The rescue crew lowered a radio to enable communications between the helicopter and those in the water.

Once it was clear that all occupants were in good health, the helicopter guided a Queensland Water Police vessel to their location.

They were taken to shore by Queensland Water Police for further treatment.
