The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a patient to hospital, after two trucks were involved in a crash, on a stretch of highway south-west of Toowoomba overnight.
The aeromedical team was called into action shortly before 8 o’clock last night.
The pilot landed the aircraft on the highway, which had been closed to traffic by emergency service personnel.
The patient was then flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, suffering a severe arm injury as well as chest and abdominal injuries.
He flew under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic.
