RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts motorcyclist after head-on collision

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a seriously injured man to hospital after a motorbike and car collided, in the Fraser Coast region.

The rescue aircraft was tasked to the scene shortly before 1pm.

It’s believed the man, aged in his 30s, was riding the motorbike when it collided with a car.

The pilot landed the helicopter on the road, which had been closed off by emergency services.

The aeromedical crew worked with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient on the scene for severe lower limb injuries.

He was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter and crew service the Wide Bay-Burnett region and beyond.
