The Mount Isa-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a man to hospital, after he was bitten by a snake, in the Cloncurry region.
The man, who is aged in his 20s, was reportedly working in a remote area, south-west of Mount Isa, when the snake bit him on his left leg.
The worker decided to jump into his car to drive to seek help.
After driving a short distance, he came across two men who were able to initiate first aid and call emergency services.
The rescue chopper was called into action at approximately 10:30am (Saturday, 13th May).
Once on scene, the aeromedical crew treated the patient for envenomation.
He was flown to Mount Isa Hospital in a stable condition.
