RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts injured driver after truck rollover

An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a driver to hospital, after his truck rolled onto its side, while travelling around a corner, south of Toowoomba.

It’s believed the driver was trapped in the cabin of the truck for around an hour, before Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel managed to free him.

The Toowoomba-based rescue helicopter was called into action just before 8am and landed on a patch of grass near the scene.

The aeromedical team worked with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the driver, who is aged in his 20s, before he was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The man was airlifted in a serious condition, with upper body injuries.
