Toowoomba’s RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a teenage boy to hospital, after he reportedly fell more than twenty metres, onto rocks, this afternoon (Saturday 14 March).
The rescue chopper was called to the Scenic Rim region just before 4 o’clock.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers were on the scene, when the aeromedical team arrived.
Local emergency services had already been able to retrieve the boy, before the helicopter landed.
RACQ LifeFlight Rescue’s Critical Care Doctor and a QAS Flight Paramedic assisted in treating the boy, before he was flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital with critical head injuries.
A woman, known to him, travelled as an escort.
