The rescue helicopter was called to the scene just before 2pm today (Sunday 16 February).
It’s believed the young boy, who is primary school aged, was riding with a friend when he lost control and crashed the bike, being thrown over the handlebars.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated the patient at the scene and drove him a short distance, to where the rescue helicopter was waiting.
The boy was airlifted to Roma Airport, under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and a LifeFlight Critical Care Paramedic.
He was transported in a stable condition.
