RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts injured plane crash pilot

The rescue helicopter was called to the scene, around 10am and landed near the crash site.

The  RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Critical Care Flight Paramedic worked alongside local QAS paramedics, to treat the pilot, who was suffering from head and neck injuries.

The patient who is aged in his mid-sixties, was the only occupant of the aircraft.

It’s believed he was preparing to land at a nearby airfield, when the crash occurred.

After being stabilised, he was transferred to the rescue helicopter and flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
