The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper has airlifted a seriously injured teenager, after his motorbike and a four-wheel-drive collided, in the Southern Downs.
The rescue helicopter was called to the scene just after 5:30pm.
When the aircraft landed Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel and Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers were also at the scene.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Critical Care Flight Paramedic worked with other QAS officers to treat the teenager’s multiple injuries and stabilise him for the flight.
He was then flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, in a serious but stable condition.
It was the fourth motorbike crash RACQ LifeFlight Rescue and LifeFlight’s Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) choppers were called to over the weekend.
LifeFlight’s Toowoomba-based SGAS helicopter was called to the Southern Downs yesterday, to airlift another teenager, after a dirt bike accident.
