Man hit by falling scaffolding flown to hospital

The Sunshine Coast’s RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a man to hospital, after he was hit by a piece of falling scaffolding.

The rescue chopper was called to the scene, north of Noosa, just after 3pm.

It’s believed the man had been working on a friend’s home, when he was struck.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics initially treated the man, aged in his 50s, before the helicopter landed at a nearby helipad.

He was then flown, in a stable condition, to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, suffering a neck injury.
