Elderly man airlifted after falling through roof

An elderly man has suffered significant head injuries after falling through a roof, at a private property, earlier today.

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was sent to the incident, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, shortly after 9am.

The helicopter was able to land at a nearby oval and the medical team was then transported to the home.

Once on the scene, the LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic worked alongside local QAS paramedics, to treat the man.

He was flown in a serious condition to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
