The Sunshine Coast based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted two patients from separate crashes in the Gympie region.
In the first incident the crew attended a motocross park at 9.50am after a male in his 30s crashed on a jump and sustained a head injury.
The LifeFlight critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient.
The LifeFlight rescue helicopter was tasked again at 1pm to a single vehicle rollover.
The crew was able to land the chopper on the roadside close to the incident.
A woman in her 40s was extricated from the vehicle, which rolled down an embankment, by Queensland Fire Department.
She was treated by local QAS paramedics, the LifeFlight critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic for minor injuries.
Both patients were flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
