The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew winched a man this afternoon after he injured his leg while hiking.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 12.37pm by Retrieval Services Queensland to Girraween National Park on the Queensland and New South Wales border.
The man had been walking with his partner when he fell awkwardly.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic and rescue crew officer (RCO) were winched down to the patient, and he was treated for a suspected broken ankle.
The man, in his 60s, was stabilised at the scene before being winched into the helicopter and flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
