LifeFlight airlifts man to hospital after truck rollover

The Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital following a water truck rollover.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 4.30pm to the Maranoa region and landed on a road near the incident.

The driver in his 40s was trapped in the vehicle and extricated by Queensland Fire Department (QFD) firefighters.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor and paramedic worked with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient for severe head injuries.

He was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Tasked by Queensland Ambulance Service, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
