LifeFlight airlifts injured boy after pier incident

The Brisbane-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a teenager to hospital after an incident at a pier.

It’s believed the boy was jumping from the pier with friends in the Moreton Bay region when he struck a pylon and lacerated his leg.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 11.45am and landed at a nearby oval. Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated the patient and transported him to the awaiting helicopter.

He was flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
